It has been a busy day as we are getting prepared for Sam's birthday party. We have baked a cake, made the fillings and finally iced it. I made decorations when Sam slept, we still have to finish it, but we won't do that until Saturday. This is a cake that gets better with sitting and moistening up in the fridge for a day or two so don't think we are starting too early. Obviously, Sam is a natural baker and had fun although he took it very seriously. He wants to do everything by himself and you can see him getting a little frustrated with me when I am trying to help him, I understand as I am exactly the same! My 50's skirt apron came in handy as it's the right length for Sam and not to mention, pretty. We made a small cake that Sam got to ice and a big one that I did.
